Circles...

Hi Friends,

I hope your week is going well. I am so excited to have a short work week. We get Friday off, but I'm also taking Thursday off, so 4 day weekend, here I come.

This card is one that I made last weekend. I had to break in some of my new stamps from the Stampin' Up' preorder catalog. I love the Circle Circus stamp set, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to use it.

I have to say that I love these colors together. The photograph didn't turn out the greatest, but the colors look really pretty together in real life.

Have a great day!

Long time no post

Hi Friends,

I hope you have enjoyed your weekend. I know my blog was quiet most of last week. It was quite a busy week at work. I didn't get home til later in the evening, so it left little time for crafting and blogging.

I tried to remedy some of the lack of crafting this weekend. I made a couple cards although the mojo was not kicked into gear, probably for lack of exercise last week ;) I also have been making some jewelry for upcoming birthdays.

So tonight, I thought I'd share some of my recent jewelry creations.

I used swarovski crystals (fuschia and light lavender), freshwater pearls and sterling silver. I think these colors are so pretty together. It's really sparkly and vibrant. I put a little dangle off of the bracelet. It's a little blurry in both photos, but hopefully you get the idea.

I hope you have a very blessed evening.

Color Throwdown 47

Hi Friends,

I am so excited to be participating in this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. The colors for this week's challenge were Cameo Coral, Tempting Turquoise, and Kiwi Kiss. I love these colors, so I'm really glad I could play along.
For my card, I brought out my beloved Birdwatching set. I had given it a break for a few days, so it was time to get it out again ;) The novelty still hasn't worn off of this set yet. I just love it.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and then colored with my Stampin' Up markers and ink pads. Coloring is so much fun!

We've done a lot of chores today. It's always good to mark some things off the to-do list. I think we are going to grill out tonight and watch a movie. I love Saturday nights!

Enjoy your weekend!

Busy week

Hi Friends,

I hope your week is going well. I have to admit that I am so tired. I don't even have the energy to craft if that tells you anything;) Work has been so busy. My whole day is just solid meetings and running around. I'm so grateful to have a good job. The busy days go by faster, but boy, am I TIRED.

Today's card I made awhile back for a couple from church who had us over for dinner. This card is pretty simple, but I really like the colors.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day!

Relaxing Sunday

Hi my friends,

I hope you've had a wonderful weekend. We worked hard around the house yesterday, but today we have taken it easy. We got up and went to church. And when we got home, we indulged in a Sunday afternoon nap. Oh, how I love to nap. It was so wonderful. We still have a lot of chores to get done, but they're not going anywhere ;)

For today's post, I dug out some die cut butterflies that were in my scrap drawer. I just love the Stampin' Up! butterflies die cutter. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set, and I think it makes this card a perfect one to send as a just because to a friend. I also used some soon to be retiring SU! paper. (I hate that so much of my designer paper is retiring).

A couple of weeks ago I shared some decorations to a baby shower at my church (see post here if you missed it). Today, I want to direct you to the cake that was made for the shower. Check it out here. It was so adorable. I just had to direct you to the photos of it. Unfortunately, I was unable to stick around to taste it. I'm sure it tasted better that it looked (Amber is quite the talented cook). Personally, I would've had trouble cutting it because it was so cute.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

God bless
Nette

Color Throwdown 46

Hi
It's been so long since I did a Color Throwdown challenge, so I wanted to make a card to rectify that situation. For Color Throwdown #46, the colors were:
And here's my take on the card... I resisted the temptation to use the PTI Birdwatching set and went with Stampin' Up's Great Friend set. (I was very happy to see that this set made the new catalogue as it is a favorite of mine).

We're enjoying our no agenda weekend and are trying to be productive. The weather is cool but very humid. I went for a walk earlier and was dripping with sweat. There is a neighborhood garage sale today, and I glanced about while walking. I didn't see anything that really piqued my interest. I'm off to do some more chores and try to fit in some crafting :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi

Hi Friends,

Happy Wednesday to you! I hope you are having a wonderful week. Mine has been HECTIC. Work has been so busy. I've made some time to create but not gotten all the photos taken. However, I do have one to share. I hope you like.

You can see that I used a lot of designer paper on this one. Unfortunately you cannot see the strip to the right as well as I would like, and the scallops kind of blend in. It's too dark now for me to rephotograph, so I hope you enjoy it as it is. (The strip of green is actually old olive but looks more like garden green for some reason, oh well!!)

Hugs!

Baby Shower

Hi My Friends,

I hope you are having a wonderful week. Mine has been a busy one but quite nice. Work has had a lot going on. Also, I have a dear friend in town from our office in England. She and I have gotten to do some fun things (lunch, dinner, shopping). I've really been enjoying spending some time with her.

I'm going to share some photos of the decorations, gift packaging and the gift from the baby shower last weekend. Let me say that the photos are not the best even after me playing around with them. (I almost didn't post them, but I wanted to share what I was busy doing last week). I was rushed to snap some piccies, and it shows that I didn't take the time to get the photos just right. I hope you enjoy them nonetheless.

This is the banner I made using the baby onesie that Lauren Meader developed. I saw Tess do a similar banner on her blog, Crafty Girl Designs.
She links to Lauren's template for the baby onesie. It really is pretty easy and is SO cute. Everyone loves it when I've given it.

Here's a close up of one of the "onesies" in the banner.

Here's a photo of some of the decorations (the onesies on a stand). It also shows the card and gift bag I made for her gift.

Lastly, this is a photo of the mother's bracelet
I made for her. They are having a little boy,
and he will be named Jack. His due date is
July 4th, so I added the birthstone for July
as a charm to the bracelet.

Jewelry making is one of my other hobbies. I really love making it. I never buy jewelry anymore. I am finding it difficult to photograph but am working on it. You will likely be seeing more of it in the future.

That's all for tonight.

Take care
Nette
