SPCC12 number 2

Hi Again,

This will be much shorter, but I did want to share the second card I made using the SPCC color combo.

I just love this little Hero Arts giraffe. Isn't it just the cutest thing?

Have a great evening my friends :)

SPCC 12 and awards

Hi Friends,

This is going to be a big of a hefty post today because I have some catching up to do. First things first, here is one entry in the SPCC color Challenge. I actually made two cards for this, so I will likely be posting the second card shortly after this post.

Next, I've been so fortunate to receive some blog awards lately. And I've been very bad about passing them on. I want you all to know that when I receive something like this it really really makes my day. Me not passing them along has nothing to do with lack of appreciation. Truly, it seems that most of the people I would forward them onto have already been included on someone's list. This first award called "Eye Like your Style" came from Kristina. You should check out her blog, she's a diva at SPCC and creates some really cute stuff.

Winter passed along The Karma Award: "These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award." I need to choose 8 blog to pass this on to.

Kelly Marie and Kelley both gave me the "One Lovely Blog Award"

And I got a sweet shout out from that dear Courtney.

I tell you I am overwhelmed by the kindness. I enjoy blogging more than I ever imagined, and it's because of the kind people I've "met" through doing this. I truly hope to meet you all in person some day. As Kelly Marie has said, it's like pen pals when we were kids.

I'm going to list some blogs that I enjoy visiting. I encourage you to visit the previously listed blogs as these girls have been such blessings to me.

Jessi and Rachel at Stampin with Jessi and Rachel

Amber at FlourGirl (non-paper crafting but yummy baked goodness)

Seriously, there are so many talented blogs out there. I could list so many. Many that I went to plug in here have already been listed in the linked posts, so I'm not going to duplicate them. Follow the links and the links within them, and you are sure to be inspired.

Thanks for sticking with me thru this long post!

2S4Y

Hi Friends,

Happy Saturday! I cannot believe it's been since Tuesday that I posted (no wonder I felt like something was missing !). I wanted to submit something for the 2S4Y challenge, so this is my entry.
I did some paper piecing which I haven't done in ages, but it seemed to lend itself well to this stamped image.

I hope you have a great day!

Raspberry Suite Challenge #15

Hi Friends,

I hope you're all doing well. I'm in a time warp, I have thought all day that today was Wednesday, but alas it was not, of course. Guess it was just wishful thinking, but tomorrow is, so I'll have it right then:)

I made a card for Dawn's color challenge. The colors are so pretty, so I really wanted to play. Here's her swatch (aren't they just yummy):

And here's my take on the challenge. I had trouble getting the melony gems to photograph, but hopefully you can tell that the gems on the ivory flowers are the melon/orange color. I also did some clear embossing of those lovely Damask images. So, you can see I'm still hung up on the clear embossing and now have added the flowers to the mix. (You know I go in phases). The flower phase could last awhile as I have a lot of flowers because they sell those in packages of several. I will try (TRY) not to overdo it. :)

Have a wonderful WEDNESDAY tomorrow my friends. I'm off to bed now.

SPCC 11 and fun mail

Hi Friends,

I know I've been a little behind on posting. I have to confess that last week was one of the most stressful weeks I have had at work in a long time. I won't bore you with the details, but I was absolutely drained each evening. I tried to check in on my favorite blogging buds, but even that I fell behind.

This weekend I was able to play around with some of my paper which is always a good stress reliever. Although I have to admit, that when I've not crafted in awhile, it takes me a bit to get back in the groove. Does that happen to any of you?? Work definitely gets in the way of my crafting fun!

First off, I got a card done for the SPCC challenge
Let me tell you that I STRUGGLED with this challenge. First, I hadn't stamped in awhile and mojo was missing as stated above :) Then I found that I do not own Green Galore. In the end, i went with Certainly Celery which is close. I absolutely love Soft Suede (another of the new SU! In Colors).

Enough of my rambling, here is what I cam up with:
In the end, I am pleased with how it turned out. In fact, I have a confession to make, you are probably going to be seeing much more of the leaves and the flowers in my upcoming posts. I'm on a kick right now. So you are forewarned ;)

Lastly, I got some fun mail last week which was truly a blessing since I was having a bad week, getting this in the mail was like Christmas in August :) Maile B. had agreed to do and exchange of sorts (some die cut images from me and some stamped images from her), so when I received all of this, I was stunned. What a sweetie. Once again, I am convinced that paper crafters are just the sweetest people out there. Thank you again for your generousity, Maile.

If you've hung with me this long, thanks! I hope that you all enjoy the remaining hours of the weekend.

Blessings

Quick and simple

Hi Friends,

How are you? I'm pretty tired and don't have a lot of any interesting stuff to share. So, if you all have any fun stuff, please share! I love reading what's going on in your lives. I have so much fun getting to know you better. I feel like I've made so many friends through this little blog.
Onto the card, I made this awhile back. I do not think that I've shared it before, but if it's a repeat, sorry :) I used some of the new Stampin' Up! In colors. Lately I cannot stop using the Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. Anyway, I hope you like!
Have a wonderful evening.

Baby Shower tomorrow

Hi Friends,

I hope you all have had a good start to your week. This is going to be a short note because I'm dragging and ready to go to bed.

I wanted to share with you some items I made for tomorrow's baby shower at work. The first is the card from me (I posted the group gift card a few days ago here). I kept with the animal theme.

I also made a frame for her. I took a $1 frame from Michael's painted it with $0.50 bottle of green paint and some Hero Arts buttons for about $8 with plenty left over. What a bargain for a gift if you ask me. I also made her a Mother's bracelet but didn't photograph it.

Since I've gotten involved in crafting, I feel like I'm back to my childhood... giving away homemade gifts (hee!). Anyway, I hope that she will like them and her party tomorrow.
Have a great night friends!

Raspberry Suite Challenge

Hi Friends,

I found some time to make a card for Dawn's challenge this week. I'm a little frustrated with the editing of this photo. Trust me, that is vanilla and not white. I tried several times to get the colors right, but this was the best I could come up with.Notice the little gems to add a little sparkle to the card:)
Have a good night. Woohoo the weekend is almost here.

Shower card

Hi Friends,
I hope your week is off to a great start. Can you believe it's mid-August already? Geez, I cannot believe how fast time is flying. Before you know it, the holidays will be here. I need to get started on Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas cards. Otherwise, it's going to sneak up on me like it always does. (I have already picked up some Christmas gifts throughout the year, so I'm a little ahead there).
For today's card, it's one I made for a group shower gift for a coworker. We're having her shower next week, so we needed a card for her.

Notice the Cloud background stamp (love it---thank you Miss Kelly). I hope you like it! I hope Marianne likes it.

Blessings to you all!

Birthday butterflies

Hi Friends,

Happy weekend! Do you have any big plans for the weekend? We're not sure what we're going to be doing. Carlin has studying to do, and I have chores. I also have a long list of cards I need to get done! There just aren't enough hours in the day.

The cards I'm sharing today are ones I made for my best friend's birthday. I think card sets make great gifts especially for people who like to give cards. At any rate, I hope you enjoy! You will see that I used cosmo cricket paper which helps to keep all the cards coordinated. I also had the butterfly theme. (I love my butterfly die cutter from Stampin' Up! LOVE IT)!

3 butterflies and used the big scallop punch. And buttons, gotta love buttons

Used my topnote here, another button and some Hero Art pearls (I think that this is my favorite)

Another top note, buttons and gemstones.

You getting bored with the theme yet?

Well, this is the last one. I hope you enjoyed them. And I really hope that my friend will like them.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend
Lynnette

Paper: Cosmo Cricket, SU! Kiwi Kiss, Purely Pomegranate, tangerine tango, Pacific Point
stamps: Hero Arts, SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes

2S4Y

Hi All,

I've been wanting to participate in the 2 sketches 4 you for quite some time. I finally got a card made for this challenge. AND I used some leftover paper from some other cards I made.

I really liked this layout. In fact, I may make another card using it. And I really like the Cosmo Cricket paper (insert big happy sigh here). My mojo has been lacking lately, and designer paper is so handy when my mojo has gone MIA.

I hope your week is going well. Thanks for stopping by, you know I love hearing from you!

Blessings!

SPCC challenge

Hi Friends,
Another day, another card challenge. Today's card is for SPCC to use Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango and Mellow Moss. I used another of my new toys, the SU! Medallion stamp. I love this stamp. I can see me making quick cards with this image.

Unfortunately, the colors don't show up too well in my photo. I desperately need to get better at photo editing. I just need to find a few more hours in my day (as I think most people do).

Thanks for stopping by!

Raspberry Suite Challenge

Hi Friends
Happy weekend. I hope you are enjoying it. I've been relaxing. I made a card using some new toys for Dawn's Raspberry Suite challenge. I placed a big order from Stampin' Up and got it the other day. Of course, I had to break some of the new stuff in.

I am in stamp love with this new "For All You Do" stamp set. It's so versatile (for girl cards, I might clarify). I just love it and cannot wait to play with it more.

I had to use stampin up colors because I do not have the PTI paper. I used Real red, Cameo Coral, Whisper White, and Mellow Moss. I have so many buttons, and dug into my supply of red to incorporate into this card.

So what are you up to, any exciting plans? I hope all is well.

Bye!
Nette
