Everything but the Kitchen Sink

Hi Friends

It’s time for another Everything but the Kitchen Sink Challenge.. For the end of the month challenge, the designer gets to pick the type of challenge. This time it’s Kelly Marie’s turn, and she has gone with a color challenge using the following from her home as inspiration.

Challenge 26

Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0018x

Can you believe it?  One there are no jack-o-lanterns on this card ;) and Two, it’s a single layer card.  I rarely make single layer cards, so this is something for me!

Anyway, the prize this month is a Lawn Fawn stamp set.

Awesome, huh??  You will love this set.  Be sure to check out the EBTKS blog for more information and to see the other designers’ cards.

And here’s what I came up with for my card… I know, big surprise, it’s a Halloween card using Lawn Fawn stamps. For this card, I used:  Harvest Season, Teeny Tiny Backdrops, Heebie Jeebies, and Harold’s ABCs.  (4 sets on one card!! I LOVE how well Lawn Fawn sets compliment each other).

Halloween week continues

Hi Friends,

Well, another day, and another Halloween card. And surprise surprise, I used a bunch of Lawn Fawn Stamps.

DSC_0163

I used Heebie Jeebies, Harvest Season and Harold’s ABCs again for this card. I just love making those jack-o-lanterns. No worries, after this week you won’t see them again.. unless I can figure out a way to work them into Thanksgiving or Christmas ;)

Well, friends, this is going to be short, I’m off to bed.

Have a blessed day

Halloween Day 3

Hi Friends,

I hope you’re not sick of Halloween cards yet… I have more to share :)

Today I’m actually sharing a few different cards. I used some Cosmo Cricket chipboard when making these.

DSC_0181

DSC_0179

DSC_0182

You’ll notice that I didn’t abandon my Lawn Fawn Stamps. I used “boo” from Heebie Jeebies, and made the “trick or treat” sentiment with Harold’s ABCs. I love making custom sentiments!

We had some fierce storms come through Indiana today. Our office was sheltering in the basement for nearly an hour. (People were a little restless because we weren’t getting consistent signals with blackberries…) My husband’s office lost power, and he got to go home early!!

Anyway, if you had storms today, I hope you weathered them safely:)

Day 2 of Halloween Week

Hi Friends,

I had planned to share a post of our recent get away, but the format in blogger was funky.  So I decided to go forward with another Halloween card.  Once again, I used a bunch of Lawn Fawn stamps.

DSC_0171

(There’s another one of those jack-o-lanterns, and he’s not the last).  This time, I combined Harvest Season, Harold’s ABC’s, Heebie Jeebies, and Critters in the burbs.  I don’t know why, but googlie eyes seem to go so well with Halloween cards.  If you want to know how to make the jack-o-lantern, check out yesterday’s post for instructions.

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Card Week

Hi Friends

I’m back from our mini vacation. We had such a fun getaway to Nashville, Indiana which is located in Brown County. This is a very popular place for people to visit to see the fall foliage. The town itself is very quaint with cute shops and restaurants. We rented a cabin that is secluded yet only about a mile from town. It is just perfect. (For those of you who’ve visited my blog for awhile, this is the same cabin/town we’ve visited before). I will share some photos from the trip this week.

I’ve decided to dedicate my card posts this week to Halloween cards. I'm quite happy to have made some cards to send... I've been so busy lately that I was afraid I wouldn't have time to make and send some. Thankfully, that's not the case! So here’s today’s card:

DSC_0175

As you can see, I used a lot of Lawn Fawn Stamps on this card. I am so happy with the Jack-o-lantern. I stamped, colored and cut out the pumpkin from Lawn Fawn Harvest Season. Then I cut a nose and mouth from black cardstock scraps and glued them down, and then I added different sized googlie eyes so that he’d look a little goofy :)

(You’ll be seeing more of these this week on the blog).

Thanks for stopping by today.

Hugs and blessings,

Nette

Off the Wall Craftiness

Ooooops!  I forgot to schedule my blog post before I went out of town!

At any rate, thanks for popping in, I have a card from the current Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge to share with you today. Here' is the color schemecfa23b15292175639225bb8718b61b63_m

Aren’t these wonderful together?  I just love green and brown together.

I needed some male thank you cards.  We recently had a women’s ministry activity where our elders came and spoke to us, we heard some great teaching on the Beatitudes and then had a nice lunch together.  I wanted to make some thank you cards for our elders who took time out of their weekend to share with us.  So I actually made 4 cards that are SUPER SIMPLE and quickly reproducible.

DSC_0014 DSC_0017 DSC_0013x

So you can see that these are single layer cards with just a couple stamped images on them.  This is not my normal style, but I really needed something quick.  Plus, with cards for men… well, we all know that excess is not needed.  Less is definitely more for men.

Be sure to check out the other designers’ work at the OFTWC blog and the great prize package Kim has up for grabs. I can’t wait to see what you create.

Hugs and blessings

P.S.  I will be sharing more about our trip in the next few days. It was a wonderful getaway and very well timed :)

Lawn Fawn+It’s in the Bag=Cuteness

Hi Friends,

How are you? I hope you are having a very blessed week. Today, Lawn Fawn is partnering with Michelle Phillipi and her Etsy Store, "It’s in the Bag” to show some holiday packaging ideas. I’m always looking for cute ways to package gifts, and customized gift bags just add that personal touch that people love. Here’s my project:

Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge

Hi,

It’s Thursday, so you know what that means….Another fun color challenge from Off the Wall Craftiness!

b_33938_snapshot

Here’s my take on her awesome color combo. It’s a little different than what I’d normally do, but I’m feeling fallish, and wanted to work off of that. The Stamps of Life are sponsoring this week's challenge, so there's another great prize up for grabs. Good luck!

Playdate Cafe Color Challenge

Hi Friends

I cannot believe it but I’m actually playing in a challenge. I love Playdate Cafe color challenges, so I’m squeezing this one in between other things I need to get done (and it’s already past my bedtime).  I’m not sure where all the time is going, or why I’m so busy, but there sure is a lot going on these days :)

So the colors for the challenge were white, melon and green.  I am need of several “thinking of you,” “praying for you,” or “just because” type of cards, so I decided to get use that sentiment for this challenge. Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0009

I broke out some Papertrey Ink stamps (Turning a New Leaf, and Blooming Button Bits), and of course I had to use a small sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s Bows and Holly. Come to think of it, that sentiment isn’t any of the three listed above, but it will serve its purpose.

I embossed the flower in clear to add richness to the color. I also broke out one of my Wilton doilies.

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a great night

Lawn Fawn giveaway winner

Hi There

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I am actually taking today off to use up vacation time. (No, I’m not one who gets Columbus day off).

Is anyone else amazed at the crazy weather? The last few days in Indianapolis been over 80 degrees! That is nuts! I’m ready for fall. 2010-10-09 009 While out walking, I did snap a photo of this gorgeous tree. Despite the hot, dry summer, the trees here are beginning to turn the beautiful vibrant shades that I adore. (You can see how dry it’s been by looking at the brown grass!) But the tree’s leaves are so vibrant, I love the fade from green to red. Just so pretty :)

So, onto blogging things, I have a giveaway to make good on. I had my personal random number generator pick a number from the posts last week to win her choice from the latest Lawn Fawn release. There were 54 comments, and my hubby picked the number 20. So beginning at Monday and working through the list, we came to our winner….

Stacie(Craft Princess), who happens to have an amazing blog herself! And she’s a fellow Hoosier, which we recently discovered. Stacie, drop me an email at lkauffman1072atgmaildotcom with your choice of Lawn Fawn stamp set from the latest release (Bows and Holly, Frosties, Hannukah, or Winter Bunny) and your address, and I’ll get it ordered for you.

FYI, I plan to do this for as long as I can with upcoming releases, so I hope you participate. Heads up, I’ve seen some of the November releases, and yeah, you’re going to want these :)

This is probably enough for now, but stop back tomorrow, Lord willing, I will be posting a new card!

Hugs and blessings

Happy Birthday Courtney (and John, my brother)

Hi Friends!

Today is the birthday of the sweet and talented Courtney.  I wish her the happiest of birthdays!  Please take a minute to visit her blog and send her some love :)  It’s also my brother’s birthday, but I know that he doesn’t visit my blog :)

Courtney is uber talented. She’s on many design teams, and has her own stamp line, Practicing Creativity Designs

Here’s the card that is on its way to her.. I mailed it late (sorry Courtney, I wasn’t very on top of things).  But hopefully it will just extend the celebration :)

DSC_0089

I love fall!  So making cards for fall birthdays is so much fun. I got to use some yummy Cosmo Cricket paper (Nutmeg).

I’ll announce the winner of the Lawn Fawn giveaway tomorrow. I’ve not had my random number generator do that yet, and he’s napping.

Have a blessed day

Off the Wall Craftiness

Hi Friends,

It’s time for another Off the Wall Craftiness challenge. Once again, Kim has come up with a great color combination.. Brown, yellow and white. Check out this inspiration photo.

303

These colors are so rich, and just make me think of fall. (I love fall by the way.. cooler temps, changing leaves, and FOOTBALL). Anyway, I digress. I thought this was the perfect color combination to use the Harvest Season stamp set from Lawn Fawn. Here’s what I came up with.

DSC_0001

I love using the various leaves to create a background pattern.

I’m off to bed. I have a very early morning tomorrow. The company I work for (Eli Lilly, a pharmaceutical company) is doing a beautification project tomorrow, and I have to be at the office between 6:30 and 7:00. OH MY is that EARLY!!! I am so not a morning person.

So, dear friends, good night :)

Lawn Fawn Winter Bunny

Hi!

Wow, this week is going by fast! I cannot believe today is the last day of sneak peeks from Lawn Fawn. All the better because they’ll be available for purchase at midnight on the 7th! Yippeee!

So today, we’re previewing “Winter Bunny,” and this is a singlet. The first time that Lawn Fawn is trying a single stamp, and I have to say this sledding bunny is CUTE.

Check him out:

DSC_0001_edited-1

Is this sledding bunny adorable or what? You could use him for so many things. I have several ideas floating in my head that you will likely see in future days! It’s such a fun image. You may noticed that I paired him with Frosties, so they pair up quite nicely. (I wish I had embossed the snowflakes on the red so that you could see them better. Oh well, next time)

Be sure to head to the Lawn Fawn blog to see other ideas with this cutie and to sign up for a chance to win. Speaking of prizes, I am giving away a set of the winner’s choice at the end of the week. All you need to do is leave a comment for a chance to win. Good luck!

Now, be sure to head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog to see the other designers’ samples! Remember to comment for a chance to win one of the new sets!

Off the Wall Craftiness

Hi Friends

It’s that time of the week, time for another Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge. And Kim has come up with another great combination. Here’s the inspiration piece:

aquabrown

inspirationaquabrown

So soft and pretty right? Aqua is up there on my favorite colors list, so I love it when challenges have it incorporated into them :)

Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0024

Since making this card, I’ve had several other ideas running through my head for this color combination. I just hope I have time to put them to paper.

You may have noticed that things have been quieter here at the blog. I’ve had a lot going on recently, between work travel, women’s ministry conference activities amongst other things. I’ve fallen behind in a lot of areas.

This weekend, I hope to have some time to rest as I’ve been exhausted, and time to play in the craft-room.

Hope you all have a very blessed weekend.
