Lawn Fawn Stay Tuned

HI Friends,

I hope you’ve been enjoying the Lawn Fawn Inspiration week. Today is the end of this month’s featured projects, and we are showing projects made using the cute set “Stay Tuned”.  This set has a great retro feel and would be great to make cards for music lovers, television lovers and for male cards (which are always a challenge).

Here’s what I came up with:

In full disclosure, my creative mojo went missing, and I’ve stayed up way too late to trying to come up with something. So I’m not crazy about this card, but it does show a lot of elements from the set which is good.

Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog for the design team projects and to sign up to win.

Thanks for stopping by

Lawn Fawn Handmade with Love

Hi Friends

I hope you’re having fun with the Lawn Fawn inspiration week. Today, we’re featuring the mini set “Handmade with Love”. This will be a great use for baked goods and other handmade items (think of the holidays that will be there before you know it).

Here is the project I made:

It is a package of homemade cards (remember these cards using Grand Greetings).

Lawn Fawn Claire's ABCs

Hi Friends

Is it really Monday already? Wow, the weekends sure go by fast.

The good news is that Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week continues, and today we are sharing projects made with Claire’s ABCs. With Mother’s day around the corner, I decided to make a couple Mother’s day cards.

Obviously, they are very similar just different flowers and the sentiment on card stock on one and vellum on the other.  As you can see, my passion for Bright Side paper continues.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week

Hi Friends!

I hope you’re doing well. I’m back at home after traveling to Bulgaria and then onto Nashville, Indiana (Brown County) for a vacation. We go there every year to celebrate our anniversary, this year was number 4.  Time flies by so fast.

Speaking of flying…or fluttering. Today, the Lawn Fawn Design team is featuring the set Flutter By which is one of my favorites.  Here is what I came up with:

I wanted to feature both the flowers and the butterfly, so I have two cards this time.  I paired both cards with the Bright Side paper which I reach for all the time!  The flowers were colored with Copics (RV000, RV02, RV04, RV06, RV10, YG01, YG03).  You can see that the butterfly was paper-pieced and has Stickles (Crystal) added to the polka dots.  It’s got a nice little sparkle. I also used Glossy Accents on the butterfly’s body, but it’s not as noticeable in the photo.

Thanks for stopping in today. If you haven’t already, please head over to the Lawn Fawn blog to see all the amazing projects and see how to be entered for some lovely prizes.

Hugs and blessings.

Taylored Expressions—Top Chef

Hi Friends

I’m back from Bulgaria! It was a whirlwind but productive trip

I realized while I was there that I forgot to schedule this post!  I was so sad because I was so excited about this. A few weeks ago I played along with the Taylored Expressions sketch challenge here.  Much to my complete surprise and excitement, Taylor invited me to be the Top Chef for this current challenge.  Find the details on her blog.

Here is the Card I made for the sketch challenge that started April 13 on the Taylored Expressions blog.

I used the Taylored Expressions Faith in Bloom set that I adore. It’s got flowers and beautiful scriptures which is a winning combination in my book. For this card, I paper pieced with some fabulous My Mind’s Eye Paper.

I have to tell you that being asked to do this is such a privilege. Taylor’s blog was one of the first blogs I ever found several years ago.  She is so talented, her blog always did and still does inspire me.  The stamps she carries are really fabulous. They are the cling mount and produce such nice images.  And she has a very diverse selection of stamps to select.

I hope you consider playing along in the new challenge!  Thanks for stopping by and have blessed day friends

If Friends were Flowers…

Hi Friends,

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Easter.  Ours was wonderful. We went to church and spent time with our church family. Later my brother, nephew and mom came over for brunch.  Then Carlin and I indulged in a Sunday afternoon nap… bliss, I tell ya!

Last night, I started our taxes. (Notice I said started---I hate doing these).  So I didn’t get much crafty time in.  I worked on a project over the weekend, but it’s for a gift. In case the recipient checks out my blog, I don’t want her to see it. (Plus, I’ve not photographed it yet).

I decided to share a previous reject card. Apologies, if I’ve shared this already.   Anymore, when I submit to publication calls, which is rare, I only make projects that I think I  will use.  It makes no sense to make something that won’t get used if it’s not picked up (and I’ve been in a dry spell as far as publication acceptances).

Having said all that, I thought this would be a fun card to send to a friend, especially in the spring or summer. So I may be sending this to a friend sometime soon DSC_0284

Thanks for stopping in friends, I hope you have a fabulous week.

Congrats to the winners of the Lawnscaping blog hop!

Hop into Spring

BLOGHOP

Hi Friends!

It’s time for another fun blog hop hosted by Lawnscaping.  This blog hop is to welcome in Spring.  There are 40 designers creating spring inspired projects for you to check out.  Now, you should be arriving here from Rachel W K.

So here’s what I came up with in honor of spring.  I’m keeping with the Easter Idea, and created another Easter card.

eggs

I made this card using Lawn Fawn’s Critters on the Farm, Critters in the Burbs, Bon Voyage and Harold’s ABC’s.  I got this idea from a little mini bucket I saw at Michael’s and decided to run with it.  I think it turned out really fun.

No blog hop would be complete without some fabulous prizes and sponsors.  The Lawnscapings blog has all the information on the prizes, but here’s a hint at a couple of sponsors…

Be sure to comment along the way, that’s how you are eligible for winning some of the amazing prizes.

Next up on the hop is Melissa Shea, so hop on over and see what she’s created to celebrate spring.

Believe it or not, I have another post that will go live later, so stop back by.

Happy Easter

Hi Friends

I hope you’re having a good week. I know a lot of people are off of work tomorrow in honor of Good Friday.

In honor of the upcoming holiday, Resurrection Sunday, I thought I’d share some cards that I sent for the holiday.

Here are some of my cards:

These are pretty simple and straightforward. I was pressed for time, so I went for simple!

I used Taylored Expressions stamp set Easter Joy. It’s a cute set with great Bible verses that relate to Easter. I just adore it!

Have a blessed day friends

Taylored Expressions challenge

Hi Friends

I hope you’re having a great week.  I know a lot are enjoying spring break. I’m looking forward to the upcoming Easter weekend. Carlin’s parents will be here on Friday on their way back from Florida (they are becoming snow-birds).  Then on Sunday, we will celebrate Christ’s resurrection by attending church and having brunch with my family.

So, I’ve been making some Easter cards.  Today’s card I used the latest Taylored Expressions sketch challenge as my inspiration.

Here’s my take on the latest challenge:

DSC_0283

One of my favorite things about this line of stamps is that they have a nice selection of scripture stamps.  For Christmas and Easter, I really like to focus on Christ since those holidays are about Him.  So for this card, I let the verse take center stage. I added in some lovely paper from My Mind’s Eye and some pretty Prima roses.  I’ve been on a distressing kick, so all the edges were distressed.

Thanks for stopping in today friends!

New Lawnscaping challenge

coloring (1)

Hi Friends

Happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed your weekend. A new Lawnscaping challenge starts today. This challenge is all about coloring which is right up my alley. I LOVE to color, especially with my Copic markers.

Our challenge is sponsored by the wonderful Simon Says Stamp.

Simon Says Stamp

A $25 gift card for your shopping is at stake. I could easily spend that given the opportunity.

Here’s what I came up with:

flybytosay2

I used the Lawn Fawn sets, Gnome Sweet Gnome, and Critters on the Farm (the fence). Lots of cutting and coloring on this card, and it was so much fun to make.

Thanks for stopping by, be sure to check out the design team’s awesome creations at the Lawnscaping Blog
