Lawn Fawn and Scrapbook Adhesives

HI Friends

I hope you are doing well. For those of you impacted by Hurricane Sandy, you are in my prayers. I’ve been watching the news coverage, and it just seems terrible.

Even in Indiana, we are getting some of the winds.

Onto today’s blog post, Lawn Fawn is partnering with Scrapbook Adhesives for a week full of fun!  I love dimension in cards, so getting the Scrapbook Adhesives package was so much fun.

And a Partridge

Hello again!

Welcome to the last day of this month's Lawn Fawn inspiration week.  Today's post features "And a Partridge".

I played around with this set a lot.  I'm only sharing a couple of the projects today.

I wanted to create some projects that weren't only focused on Christmas, so the first two cards are examples of those attempts.

For this first card, I wanted to tie in colors off of the patterned paper from Dewey Decimal

The next card, I was going for the autumnal feel of Thanksgiving when stamping the leaves.

And for the last project, I created another gift set for Christmas.  I stamped the image in green then colored over the trunk and parts of select leaves with colored pencils. I stamped the image in red, cut out the bird and popped up with foam adhesive

I hope you've enjoyed the inspiration week.  And good luck in winning a prize from the Lawn Fawn blog.

Let it Snow

Hi Friends

I hope you are enjoying Lawn Fawn Inspiration week so far.  Today, we are featuring the "Let it Snow" stamp set.  This set is super versatile and will be great for your Christmas or other winter projects.

I decided to create a packaging set in anticipation of Christmas (which will be here before we know it!)
I used a kraft box that I purchased at Michaels, and stamped the trees on some cream cardstock (it goes around the box). Then I made a coordinating tag to go with it.  Now, I just need the gift to put in the box!

Be sure to head over the Lawn Fawn Blog if you haven't already to see all of the design team's projects.  Of course, there are multiple giveaways that you can sign up for!

Have a great day

Lawnscaping Challenge 44

Hi Friends
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  Today, we kick off another Lawnscaping challenge!  And this one calls you to try a new technique.  So here’s your chance to try something you’ve been wanting to experiment with.
Our challenge is sponsored by Lawn Fawn!  So here’s a chance to win that set of stamps that’s been on your wish list.

Here’s the card I made for this challenge:

I used the Lawn Trimmings (Retro Cord)to make the trees.  I started by drawing a simple tree on paper and cutting it out.  Then I cut a bunch of strips of the Lawn trimmings.  Next, I started gluing the Lawn Trimmings to the tree base.  I went from the bottom up so that the top layers would overlap the lower layers.  For the main tree, I added gems and pearls to decorate.
I’m not going to lie to you, this project was messy. My hands were really glue filled.  The card is heavy. If I were to do it again, I’d only put one of the trees on the card to decrease some of the weight.
For the rest of the card, I used the Let It Snow stamp set, and Fa-la-la paper.  I also used the Peppermint Cord for the top of the card. It’s hard to see the snowflakes stamped in white on the blue, but they are there, next time I’d emboss. I also added some stickles to the snow but it’s not easily seen in the photo.
Thanks for stopping by, be sure to go to the Lawnscaping Blog for all the design team projects.  We can’t wait to see your projects and new techniques you try!

Lawnscaping Fall Blog Hop

 Hi Friends and Happy Friday!!

Who's ready for the weekend?  I know I am.

Well, today, Lawnscaping is sponsoring a fun blog hop in honor of fall and inspired by the photo collage above.  If you are hopping along, you should be arriving from Linda's blog.  For my project, I embraced the colors, the pumpkins and leaves.  Here is my project:
I adore this new mini set (So Thankful) from Lawn Fawn.  I love these pumpkins, leaves, swirlies and the sweet sentiment.  I am a big fan of autumn, so this set is right up my alley.

Well, hoppers, the next step on the hop is Pia's blog

If you've gotten lost along the way, or would just like to start at the beginning, head over to the Lawnscaping blog where the fun begins, and, yes there are prizes involved. (I guess I neglected to mention that earlier!)  All the details are there, so be sure to comment along the way.

Thanks for visiting and happy hopping!

Lawnscaping Challenge #43

Hi Friends

I hope you enjoyed a fabulous weekend.  Isn't amazing how quickly the weekends go by?!

A new Lawnscaping challenge kicks off today, and it's another fun one.  This one is to use texture on your project.  I love texture, so this was right up my alley.

The amazing Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring this challenge, and they will give a $25 gift certificate to the winner.  I could spend that way too easily!

I used Lawn Fawn Blissful Botanicals and Sophie's Sentiments to make this card.  I had some burlap left from wedding card I made awhile back, some Hero Arts Pearls, and a prima flower. I tried to combine hard and soft elements in the texture department.  I distressed the edges (both with a edge distresser and distress ink).

Hope you decide to play along!
