Taylored Expressions card set

Hi Friends

I hope you had a great weekend. I really enjoyed being home. I had been traveling, so it’s always nice to come home.  I leave again tomorrow for San Diego, so my time home has been somewhat shorter than I prefer. The good news is after this upcoming trip, I should be home for awhile.

I wanted to share some cards I made using Taylored Expressions stamp set, Posh Posies.  I love flower stamps, so this stamp set was right up my alley.  I  decided to go with a simple design so that I could make a quick set of cards.  Here’s what I came up with:

To make these cards, I did some masking and had to ink the flower and stem with different colored inks (which was the hardest part of making these, so these are pretty straightforward).

I hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by!

Taylored Expressions February Studio Challenge

febstudiochallengesneak

Hi Friends!

It's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge.  This is a monthly opportunity for the Taylored Expressions team to share what makes our stamping studios hum.  Each month we  have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

The question for February is:

Recipe for success!  When you sit down to create a card just for fun, for the pure joy of stamping, without any type of assignment or deadline, what steps do you usually take?

Tell us how you get started and take us along on your creative journey.

This was a fun challenge.  I go in phases on what my fun things to do are.  The most predominant thing is coloring. I love to color with my Copic markers. I like to stamp out images on paper and sit and color.  It’s a great stress reliever for me.  I also enjoy cutting them out.  I guess I go back to my childhood a bit and just have fun.

One thing I love to do on my cards is create scenes.  When I have a lot of cut out colored images, I can arrange and rearrange to create the scene I want. So for this month’s challenge, I decided to do some cutting, coloring and scene making. I went with an Easter theme and used one of my all time favorite Taylored Expressions stamps, Easter Joy. Here’s my project:

Lynnette Kauffman lamb of God

You can see that it’s all just stamping, coloring and cutting (and lots of arranging and rearranging).  I also used the Taylored Expressions Cloudy Days big background which I love! I added some glossy accents to the heart in the cross just to set it off.

Now, be sure to go and check out the rest of the Baker’s Dozen Projects to see what they like to do for fun.

We’re kicking off a new Lawnscaping Challenge today.  The theme for this challenge is to create a scene. And it’s sponsored by Lawn Fawn.

I’m so excited about the new Lawn Fawn stamp sets that I decided to use them for this challenge. I broke out the Critters in the Savannah for the challenge.

I created the background sunset with my distress inks, and then colored each of the animals, cut them and arranged on the card.  It was super fun to make.

I sure hope you join in the challenge, this is such a fun one. We can’t wait to see what  you create

Lawn Fawn Pink Lemonade

Hi Friends

So what do you think of inspiration week so far? Today, we get to feature projects using the fabulous new patterned paper, Pink Lemonade.

I absolutely love LOVE this paper line. It’s so fun and cheery. I love the bright colors and patterns. There are so many options with it. The creative possibilities abound!

Here are some projects I came up with using this fabulous paper:

This first card I put with “Make Lemonade”, I thought it went perfectly with these colors. I also used the sentiment from “Summertime Charm.”

This second card, I used the strips on the edge of the 12x12 paper and put it with the new sentiment set “So Much to Say,” and the new Twine. LOVE LOVE!!!

Taylored Expressions: Animals in Love

Hi Friends
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  If you are buried in the snow, please stay safe.  Fortunately, in Indiana we missed that snow storm.
With Valentine’s Day just a couple of days away, the Taylored Expressions Animals in Love stamps are perfect for the holiday.  I decided to share a card I made using Giraffes in Love.
DSC_0062
About 4 years ago, I had to go to South Africa on a business trip.  I was fortunate enough to have some time to take some tours of the beautiful country.  One of the tours was on a wildlife park (closest to a safari that I was able to do).  And on that tour, we saw giraffes in the wild, including a baby one.  It really left an impression on me.
Anyway, back to the card, I used Pebbles Seen and Not Seen patterned paper. Those hearts were too perfect for me to pass up.  I also used the sentiment from Stuck on You which was released in January. I colored them with my Copics (Y35, Y17, Y38, W3, W5, W7, W0. BG0000).
Thanks for stopping by.

Taylored Expressions February Spotlights: Easter Doodles and Easter

Hi Friends,
Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a great week. For those of you being impacted by the snow storms, please stay safe!
Today is the final day of Taylored Expressions release week activities, and I get to share two more projects with you.
First up a fun project using Easter Doodles:

DSC_0095
This is all the same pail.  I used one of the clear pails you can buy at Michaels, and then I decorated it with images from Easter Doodles.  I love coloring and cutting, so making this was so much fun!  I colored with my Copics and then cut out the images. I made the little scene by beginning with the grass border using my Fiskars grass punch. Then I arranged and adhered the various images around the pail. I topped it off with some pretty twine and a gem.
Next up, I have a project I made using the Easter stamp in the new release and paired with some images from Easter Doodles.
Lynnette Kauffman Easter2 Friday
I love coloring, so this was also really fun to make.  I also love patterned paper, so I also incorporated some patterned paper from the Pebbles Seen and Noted 6X6 pad. I did add a little sparkle to the card by using my Gelly Roll pen, but you can’t really see it in the photo unfortunately.
Be sure the check out the awesome projects from the rest of the design team:

Taylored Expressions February Sneak Peak: Posh Posies and Whimsy Alphabet

Hi Again Friends,

It’s the second day of sneak peaks for the upcoming Taylored Expressions February Release.

I love flowers.  I love flower stamps, those are always some of my favorites.  So when I saw Posh Posies, I was super excited to play with it. Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0058

I love making my own patterned paper, and the flowers without stems in this set is perfect for that.  I added some glossy accents and some sparkle with my Sakura Gelly Roll pen. It’s hard to pick up in the photo, so it’s prettier in person.

I added a row of scallops across the top with my fiskars scallop edge punch and then finished off with some orange ribbon to bring out the orange flowers.

For my second project, I am featuring some of the new die cuts, specifically, the  whimsy alpha. These are perfect for scrapbooking and for customizing your cards.  I went with a card for my project

DSC_0059

I cut the letters out of pink paper then added stickles to have some bling on the card which just seems appropriate for a baby girl.

Now, be sure to check out the Baker’s Dozen design team projects for more inspiration.

Taylored Expressions February Sneak Peak: He is Risen, Graphic Greetings Redeemer

Hi Friends
I hope you are having a great week.  I’m excited to share some sneak peaks from the upcoming Taylored Expressions February release. The sets I am previewing are: He is Risen, and Graphic Greetings Redeemer.
This is one of my favorite things about the Taylored Expressions stamp selection. I love having scripture stamps especially for holidays like Easter and Christmas. Here is what I came up with using the He is Risen stamp set
DSC_0065

DSC_0069
He is Risen Love Hope Joy by Lynnette Kauffman 5 February
For these cards, I used the new soon to be released, He is Risen stamp set, the soon to be released Circles cutting plates, and the floral cutting plate.  I also did some distressing with some antique linen distress ink, and stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo black. I also used some of that pretty Dear Lizzy Fifth and Frolic patterned paper.
Next up, Graphic Greetings-Redeemer

I love all these names of Jesus.  It’s so lovely.  For these cards, I also used Memento and Antique linen ink pads.
I know the distressing and such is a little out of my usual style, but it’s nice to mix it up now and then.
Speaking of mixing it up, be sure to check out the rest of the design team's sneak peaks. You are sure to be inspired. Here are the links to their websites. Be sure to head over and check it out.
